Beautiful forest views, a large stone fireplace, and knotty pine accents add to the charm of this spacious townhome with room to sleep seven guests in Carnelian Bay. When you're not skiing down the slopes or enjoying a day out on Lake Tahoe, the Carnelian Woods complex features excellent amenities at a super convenient location in North Tahoe!
On the entry level, you’ll find the master bedroom with a king-size bed and a glass sliding door to the covered deck. The second bedroom features a queen bed. There is also a full bath with a tub/shower and the laundry closet is just across the hall.
On the second level, there’s a comfortable sofa and two chairs with ottomans, providing the perfect spot for putting your feet up and taking in the Forest View through the glass sliding door. A wood-burning fireplace adds warmth and ambiance. Keep everyone entertained with Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV with cable, and a DVD player. This level also includes the second full bath with tub/shower. Plenty of bath linens are provided.
For home-cooked meals the kitchen provides all you’ll need to create meals and memories. A hearty breakfast or roasted chicken dinner are easy in this space where the dishwasher makes clean up a breeze. There’s a dining table with six chairs, plus three chairs at the breakfast bar. BBQ not available.
On the loft you’ll find three twin beds—a perfect space for the kids.
Breathe easy as the wind whispers through the pines while you relax and sip your favorite beverage on one of the decks. Unplug and unwind with a good conversation as you appreciate the Forest View, resting in Tahoe’s unhurried pace.
When you’re ready to venture outside, you’ll love this perfect vacation setting. The Recreation Center / Lodge features a swimming pool, two outdoor hot tubs, locker room saunas, billiards, tennis and bocce courts, and a fitness trail. The complex backs up to Tahoe National Forest, offering miles of hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and other activities year-round.

Your home away from home is in Carnelian Bay, where all North Lake Tahoe is right at your doorstep! Stroll down to Magic Carpet mini golf or check out Waterman’s Landing, located at Patton Landing Beach, a 3-acre, pebbly beach known for stand-up paddling.

To experience Lake Tahoe gambling and nightlife, Incline Village and Nevada's historic casino Crystal Bay are a short drive away, just across the state line.

Closer to home, you'll find superb dining options right in town like Gar Woods Grill and Pier for steaks and fish, the Old Post Office Coffee Shop for hearty breakfasts, and CB's Pizza for hand-tossed pies and beer.

You're only 10-12 miles from three great ski resorts—Northstar, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley. Whether you prefer to downhill or cross-country ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or go sledding or ice skating, North Tahoe is the place for winter fun.

At Squaw Valley, after conquering the slopes, go tubing with the kids or try out the mini snowmobiles at SnoVentures Activity Zone. There are dogsledding tours too!

In the summer, ride the Aerial Tram to High Camp then choose a scenic trail and walk or hike in one of the most breathtaking places in the world! At 8,200 feet elevation, admire the beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with views of Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley's legendary granite peaks. In the Aerial Tram building lobby, kids and grownups can have a blast climbing the variety of routes on the 30’ simulated Headwall Climbing Wall. If you dare, learn how to do a front or back somersault at Skyjump; all ages are welcome.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay, this is our 3rd time staying in this condo complex. The place is clean and comfortable. As others have mentioned it is a bit dated but it is classic Tahoe. Prices have definitely gone up.

The rental was quaint and homie. Plenty of space for a family vacation. Needs some update cookware as teflon was completely stripped from the pans. Hot tub was never available as is small and with children we didn’t want to impose.
Parking was perfect, easy entry, plenty of towels and basic needs.

After the big snow storm in Dec, the rental we were on our way to, canceled on us. We scrambled to find a new rental and we were able to get this one. The place was a little out dated, but clean. Great location, not to far away from the ski slops. We had a great time and will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we go up.

Great everything was perfect. the only thing is i would suggest that the property get an adapter for bbq so future guest dont have to bring a full size propane tank with them and can use the smaller size (16 oz) propane tanks

The refrigerator defrost system caused water to run down on the top food shelf daily, and left a sizable puddle on the floor two of four days. The screen door would not close completely, and banged loudly every time it tried. Several lamps had burned out bulbs or did not work. We left a note with those concerns for the owner via the Recreation Center manager.
Over-all, we were satisfied with the rental although it was smaller than the photos indicated, and some furniture and carpeting showed signs of aging.

Quiet, forest view, safe, comfortable and clean. exactly as pictured. Dozen or so step stairs, two bedrooms and bathroom on main floor, living, dining, kitchen and bathroom on second floor. We did not use the loft room. Basic cable TV. Wifi great. We did not use the DVD player. Ceiling fan in living room area was sufficient. Kitchen basic electric, well supplied for use including towel and pot holders, dish and dishwasher soap. We did not use the fireplace nor the BBQ. Cons: bed linens seemed old but clean.(bath towels new-ish) Shower slippery /no hand hold. and some of the furniture was well worn but it did not matter. Great location short car ride to Kings Beach and Tahoe City. Easy walk to mini golf,some restaurants, and pebbly beach. We did not use the pool/hot tub. rec room at the Carnelian Woods main office because we were too busy enjoying the lake. Property manager very responsive. We would like to return again. This was a great retreat!

There were only two things we were not happy about.

1. There was no grill even though it said there would be one.
2. The recreation center was not open late enough for us to use when we got back to the property after our daily activities. The pool closed at 7 pm each night.

I have been coming to this vacation spot for more than 10 yrs now, everytime is better and better. We have tried another spot in the beginning, however, the view and comfort of still feeling at home away from home drew us to Carnelian Woods more and more. Just the thought that not only do we enjoy this place but our kids love this place is more than words can say for us. Every year we look forward to coming here to enjoy and celebrate in the snow. I am always relaxed and this is the best place to do that at. If you want to have a peace of mind, relaxation, or just a cool place to stay, Totally recommend staying at the Carnelian Woods!!

Unit was nice, clean. Couldn't get Cell service, and no wi-fi made it a little challenging, esp when the winter storm came through. Property manager was very helpful. Unit was very clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Could use another TV or two, and decor could use some updating. But, honestly - I'm being picky. We had a very nice stay and it was a nice place for the price.

You shouldn't ask guests to clean the fireplace or tell them that it's unacceptable to leave their last load of dishes in the washer. A physical office where guests can get discount lift tickets would also be nice. It also isn't OK to try and sell travel insurance when the seller knows the buyer won't qualify for the coverage.

A group of 6 of us stayed in this condo in February 2015 to ski at Squaw Valley. The condo was a good size for 6 people. There were two bedroom downstairs, which share a bathroom, the main living area upstairs with a bathroom, and a loft with 3 twin beds. The living area and kitchen were a bit tight, but worked out fine. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook. The beds were moderately comfortable, but not the best I've slept in. The condo was a bit far from Squaw (about 20 minutes driving), but was well located otherwise (near restaurants, supermarket, etc.). Within the condo complex, this unit was a bit far from the recreation center and hot tub though. Additionally, the WiFi was not functional while we were there; they provided us with an alternate network (presumably a neighbor's signal), but the signal wasn't strong enough to reliable connect. Also, cell service was a bit spotty in the unit, so having WiFi would have been nice. The condo also comes with only 2 parking passes, so we had to street park the 3rd car. The place was empty while we were there, and I would have expected them to allow us to park the 3rd car since the parking lot was empty all weekend. Overall, I'd say that there are definitely better options for Tahoe (and Squaw in particular), but for the price, this was a good value.

The most disappointing part is the recreation center is not what we expected it to be. Pool table does not work right the person who was on the duty had to use the pool Stick to bang the part to be able to get the ball out. game room was all dark no games were on at all. The tv wasn't working properly. Was not happy with the Recreation area. But the house we stayed in was great.. The walking path is amazing. The moment we came in the house was clean and warm like a vacation home. I am pleased with the Location we stayed except the recreation center wish they keep it up and make it more entertaining for the customers with children.

The condo was comfortable and clean. The area quiet. Enjoyed the beautiful pool and playground. The hot tub was great the only problem was the hours the hot tub was open.The rec room was well kept,nice pool table. The beach was nice but a little rocky. The old post office was a great place to eat although very busy.

This is the third year we've stayed at Carnelian Woods. The location is fabulous- walking distance to Lake, Garwoods, Mini Golf. The unit was perfect for 2 couples and First Accommodation is always extremely friendly and helpful.

Great place- a little cramped for 5 people in the communal space but plenty of sleeping space. Only complaint was the railing on the upstairs loft- very unsafe! We visited with my toddler and the railing not only had huge gaps between the bars that he could easily fit through but it was VERY wobbly and felt unsafe to lean on.

It is a very nice condo in a quiet neighborhood. It easily accommodates two families. Nice bathroom and kitchen. Kids had a lot of fun at the pool and rec center. The cleaning crew could have done a better job in cleaning the bathrooms, comforters, and carpet. Wi-Fi worked pretty well in the whole house.
